First light over Bryce Canyon shot during winter.
A very small aperture was used to capture the sun rays of the rising sun.

Mackerel Sky is often seen as the first sign of an approaching weather front and brings summer storms and winter gales.  This Mackerel Sky is seen reflecting in Trillium Lake at sunrise
"Foggy Sunrise Palouse"

Both Zack Schnepf and I were leading workshops in the Palouse last spring, and we had the extreme pleasure of watching this fog roll in.  
Shortly after this shot, the entire Palouse was shrouded in fog.  
Quite a site to witness, and I'm pretty sure that was a once in a lifetime experience.

I shot this image at sunrise while snow shoeing up on Steptoe Butte in the Palouse region of Washington State,  just after a heavy snow storm.  Definitely one of the most spectacular sunrises I have witnessed.
